Popcorn Shed is the UK’s first super-premium gourmet popcorn brand, who incorporate texture into their popcorn through chunks of nuts, chocolate and dried fruit. They want to enhance your ‘mouth feel’ and maximise the taste of their popcorn.
I was kindly gifted the range to try but due to my nut allergy I had to rope in my Mum and sister for the tasting sessions, which they were more than happy to accept the responsibilities of. Each flavour is available in both travel size packs and the gourmet and fancy looking shed cartons, giving each flavour their own personality and theme.

The colours of the packaging and bright and eye catching and will definitely grab your attention in a busy shop setting. Inside the shed cartons the popcorn is kept fresh in a sealed clear plastic packet, so no need to be concerned about soft popcorn waving to you from the shelf.
Now I love and adore cheese, but I can’t say I enjoy it as a flavour combination with popcorn, it just didn’t work for us personally but that’s not to say it wouldn’t be enjoyed by others. Sweet Cheesus, has a mix of cheddar cheese and caramel popcorn, and Say Cheese is just cheddar cheese popcorn.

The Gourmet Popcorn comes in seven flavours in total, including Pecan Pie, caramel popcorn with pecan nut pieces, and Butterly Nut, peanut butter caramel popcorn with roasted peanuts. I have been advised these are both yummy and a treat for the taste buds with a nice balance of nuts and caramel.
My Mum and Sister were most excited to try Salted Caramel as they are both obsessed with this flavouring, whereas I’ll take good old standard caramel any day, but I was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoyed the flavour but I personally couldn’t eat many in one sitting whereas they wolfed them down in seconds.

The final flavours from the Gourmet collection were Berry-licious, raspberry and dark chocolate caramel popcorn, and Pop N Choc, chocolate caramel popcorn with Belgian milk chocolate. We enjoyed the combination of raspberry and chocolate although I would have preferred this to be milk chocolate as it was a slightly rich flavour but that’s probably a good thing as it means I don’t speed eat my way through a bag and have a little restraint.
Pop N Choc was my favourite flavour from the collection, who can say no to chocolate right, with the chocolate flavour making itself known but not in an overpowering manner. I wouldn’t have thought you could be this inventive with popcorn flavour, so used to seeing the standard sweet or salty flavours or the healthy versions but actually Popcorn Shed is healthy with the sheds only being 500 calories, which you don’t need to eat in one sitting mind.

The sheds retail at £3.50 each or you can buy all seven flavours for £22.49, and the stockists are listed on their website but include Ocado, Superdrug and Co-Op. On their website you can also find a recipe section with a range of bakes you can try yourself at home including the Popcorn Shed products. What flavour is your favourite or which are you most excited to try?
